The Fogelsville community is grappling with the profound loss of Cole David Hausman, who passed away on August 24th at the tender age of 18. Born on November 17, 2006, Cole was cherished as the beloved son of David and Kasey Hausman, leaving behind a legacy of brilliance, warmth, and an unwavering kindness that touched countless lives.
A distinguished graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, Class of 2025, Cole was celebrated for his exceptional intellect and gentle demeanor. He was on the cusp of embarking on a new and exciting chapter, with plans to begin his freshman year at Kutztown University this fall, a future brimming with academic promise that was tragically cut short.
Despite the brevity of his life, Cole lived it with remarkable fullness and enthusiasm. In his formative years, he was an active and integral participant in NYAA sports, where he cultivated enduring friendships and became a valued member of a strong local community. His athletic pursuits also extended to golf, a sport he passionately embraced, playing for his high school team during his freshman and sophomore years and frequently enjoying rounds with his father, grandfather, and friends.
Cole possessed an adventurous spirit, evidenced by his extensive travels to numerous beautiful beaches and his enjoyment of skiing across various US destinations with his family. Beyond outdoor pursuits, he was a true tinkerer, demonstrating an intense love for computers and gaming from a very young age. His remarkable abilities included solving a Rubik’s Cube in mere seconds and a knack for building computers for both family and friends, having first constructed his own as a young boy.
His diverse interests also encompassed a deep appreciation for art, an keen eye for street fashion, a fascination with sneakers, and a passion for cars. Music, particularly genres with deep bass, held a special place in his heart, making his presence known long before he arrived.
Above all, Cole David Hausman was characterized by his fierce loyalty to his friends and family. He shared a profound and loving bond with his younger brother and sisters, Reese, Mack, and Brynn, often engaging in playful joking and spirited roughhousing that illuminated their close relationship.
He is survived by his devoted parents, David and Kasey; his siblings, Reese, Mack, and Brynn Hausman; his grandmother Elizabeth Hausman; his grandparents Stacy B. Cartledge, Jr. and Jennifer Cartledge; along with a wide circle of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless cherished friends who will forever hold his memory dear. Cole was preceded in death by his grandmother Ronda Cartledge and his grandfather John Hausman, whose spirits he now joins.
