Now in its seventeenth year, North Texas Giving Day has evolved into the nation’s largest community-wide giving event, demonstrating remarkable growth and reach. Wayne White, President and CEO of Communities Foundation of Texas, emphasized the foundational role of this initiative. He articulated that North Texas Giving Day serves as a vital platform to unify and uplift the dedicated nonprofits that tirelessly serve the region throughout the year, underscoring its importance as a cornerstone of local charitable endeavors.

The event’s profound impact was evident last year when an astounding $70 million was successfully raised, a testament to the extraordinary generosity of North Texans. Thousands of these nonprofits critically depend on this day to secure essential funding, enabling them to advance their crucial missions and continue delivering invaluable services.

Further bolstering this widespread charity effort, Amazon’s Head of Community Affairs in Texas, Vickie Yakunin, expressed the company’s pride in investing in North Texas Giving Day. This corporate partnership highlights the shared commitment to supporting organizations that are actively driving positive change for residents, both presently and into the future.

To cultivate momentum and enhance engagement leading up to the main event on September 18, Communities Foundation of Texas, alongside numerous participating nonprofits, is orchestrating a series of free community events. These gatherings are designed to raise awareness, encourage participation, and celebrate the spirit of giving that defines the initiative.

Donors have the convenience of making donations Texas online, with the window open from now until midnight on September 18. A unique aspect of North Texas Giving Day is that, thanks to generous sponsors and private donors, 100% of every online gift directly benefits the chosen nonprofits, ensuring that all transaction and technology fees are fully covered.

Since its inception in 2009, North Texas Giving Day has collectively raised over $500 million, channeling substantial resources into critical sectors such as education, health, social services, arts, environment, and animal welfare across the region. This impressive cumulative total underscores the enduring power of collective philanthropy and its transformative influence on countless lives and causes.
