Monaco is set to once again showcase its profound maritime heritage with the highly anticipated 17th edition of Monaco Classic Week – La Belle Classe, taking place from September 10th to 13th. Organized by the prestigious Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM), this biennial event stands as a distinguished gathering, drawing an impressive fleet of approximately 160 vessels, encompassing everything from elegant vintage yachts to classic motorboats and powerful speedboats.

The iconic quays of Monaco will be adorned with a diverse array of watercraft, including some 50 classic sailing yachts, 14 period motor-yachts, and 70 vintage powerboats. Among these, an extraordinary collection of 50 Rivas, brought together in collaboration with Monaco Boat Service, will make an unprecedented appearance in the Principality, alongside 25 dinghies from the historic 12-foot class, each a testament to a bygone era of seafaring.

A significant highlight of the event is the presence of 24 centenarian sailing yachts, each possessing a rich history and exceptional craftsmanship. Noteworthy among these is Partridge (1885), celebrating its remarkable 140th anniversary, alongside other legendary vessels such as Sky (1890), Tuiga (1909), Mariette of 1915 (1915), and Thea (1918). Their continued participation underscores the timeless beauty and enduring appeal of naval architecture.

International engagement remains robust, with a strong contingent of 40 members from the Manhattan Yacht Club making their return aboard Mariska (1908). Furthermore, a delegation from the Saudi Amaala Yacht Club will join the exhilarating regattas aboard Black Swan (1899), highlighting the global prestige and widespread appeal of this unique celebration of classic boats.

For enthusiasts of motorboating, the event promises a spectacular display. Monaco, with its history of hosting international powerboat meetings since 1904, will welcome a magnificent fleet of mahogany runabouts from the 1950s, led by the iconic Chris Craft and Riva brands, epitomizing the “Dolce Vita” era. Additionally, 15 motor-yachts, each having navigated over a century of innovation, will proudly showcase the meticulous art of restoration and preservation.

This year, Monaco Classic Week extends its reach into the realms of art and cinema through two exclusive exhibitions. One captivating display will intricately retrace cinema’s enduring fascination with yachting, featuring vessels with storied pasts, such as the (1906), once owned by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor; Errol Flynn’s (1928); the (1930), immortalized in films starring Alain Delon; and the schooner (1905), famously where Charlie Chaplin and Paulette Goddard first met. These cinematic connections, displayed alongside the iconic Rivas – film stars in their own right – underscore the timeless dialogue between the silver screen and the sea.

Concurrently, renowned international marine photographer Kos Evans will unveil her latest series, presenting unique works crafted on old sailcloth. These creations masterfully blend photography, maritime heritage, and craftsmanship, transforming each captured moment into a truly timeless piece of art, adding another layer of cultural depth to the event.

Beyond the thrilling races and captivating exhibitions, the event embraces a broader luxury lifestyle with engaging culinary contests and a distinguished Elegance Contest. The coveted Monaco Classic Week Trophy, a pinnacle of achievement, will be awarded by a Grand Jury, proudly chaired by the legendary circumnavigator Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, celebrating excellence on and off the water.
